What are Ethical Business Practices?
Ethical business practices refer to actions that align with moral and social values, principles, and standards. These practices go beyond legal requirements and focus on doing the right thing for all stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. Ethical business practices involve making responsible decisions that benefit society, preserve natural resources, and ensure long-term sustainability.

Examples of Ethical Business Practices:
-
Fair labour practices: This includes treating employees fairly and with respect, providing safe working conditions, and ensuring fair wages and benefits.
-
Sustainable sourcing: This involves sourcing raw materials and products from suppliers who follow ethical and sustainable practices, such as minimising waste, reducing emissions, and protecting workers' rights.
-
Environmental responsibility: This includes minimising environmental impact by reducing waste, conserving energy, using sustainable materials, and implementing environmentally friendly practices.
-
Transparency and accountability: This involves being transparent about business practices, including financial reporting, product sourcing, and social and environmental impact. It also involves being accountable for actions and taking responsibility for any negative impact.
-
Diversity and inclusion: This involves promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace, where employees of different backgrounds, genders, races, and cultures are respected and treated equally.
-
Social responsibility: This includes contributing to social causes and giving back to communities through charitable donations, volunteering, and community engagement.

I'm very grateful to have a supportive team who also desires to create easy, free and accessible guides to help business with becoming more ethical. This would have never been possible without support from those in the Bona Fide volunteer team.
