Data cookie rules are set to change after the data watchdog that is highly likely to be a part of the government plans to remodel data protection laws in the United Kingdom.
This change will affect the EU Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, which assists in enforcing the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This week, Elizabeth Denham called upon data protection authorities across all G7 nations and stated they had 'to work together to protect individuals, and businesses privacy and protect them across all domains.
This reform will potentially allow individuals to set a consistent privacy preference across all websites used, rather than applying their cookie restrictions every time they enter a website.
Denham stated that 'we need to consider how the work of governments and regulators can be better knitted together, to keep people's trust in data-driven innovation'.
